This project is an extension of the Undergraduate 2-2 Project, ><Sinchon Festival>. Privately owned public spaces (POPS) are facilities designed to enhance urban environments, installed within 10% of the land area for buildings of a certain size. The Seoul Metropolitan Government's "Red Brick Village Project" in Seongsu-dong aims to improve the urban landscape, but POPS there have failed to optimize user experience due to poor orientation towards the landscape. Most POPS in Seongsu-dong are Plaza-type, with little variety in type or design. This project proposes a new type of POPS that integrates various level differences with building mass, providing resting areas linked to surrounding infrastructure and diverging from the 12 traditional POPS forms.
